When people talk about first-person shooting games, they would always mention Call of Duty. Call of Duty has been a favorite among first-person shooting games. What is Call of Duty? Call of Duty is a famous first-person shooting game that is published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward. The theme of this first-person shooting game is the world war. The gameplay of Call of Duty is all about single-player campaign and missions. Call of Duty is very similar to Medal of Honor, another impressive first-person shooting game but there is a major difference. Medal of Honor tells the story of world war in an American soldier’s point of view. On Call of Duty, however, not only tells the story of world war from American soldier’s point of view, but also on the viewpoint of Soviet and British Soldiers. Call of Duty was first seen on Sony Playstation.
Newer versions of Call of Duty are also available on other systems such as the XBOX 360, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii in addition to PS2 and PS3. At present, Call of Duty brings its fans more excitement and hours of gameplay with its online multiplayer mode. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has become one of the famous games played on XBOX 360 Live on a multiplayer mode. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare offers multiplayer mode at its finest. You get to play with up to 18 characters on 16 different maps. These maps include nice views for snipers and cramped up places on which grenades and snipers become very useful. There are also six game modes to choose from.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare not only lets you simply fire weapons and toss grenades, you can also earn interesting tactical moves for skilled play. For example, once you shoot three enemies without dying, you get an UAV drone. An UAV drone is simply upgraded radar that shows the position of your enemies for thirty seconds. And if you can kill five enemies in a row, you get the opportunity to call an air strike. You can see an overview of the map and be able to choose where the air strike will take place. Killing seven enemies in a row gives you the chance to call a helicopter for support the helicopter will fire on your enemies at once, although they can shoot the helicopter down. These features certainly makes first-person shooting games more exciting.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has indeed become very popular on the XBOX 360. IN response to that, Activision and Infinity Ward is now developing a new game – Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare 2 is currently being developed, and the only new information currently available at present is that Modern Warfare 2 will not be a part of Call of Duty. Modern Warfare 2 has been officially announced on Feb 11, 2009 and will be released on November 10, 2009. So if you enjoyed COD: Modern Warfare, then buy Modern Warfare 2 once it is released.
