Damnation
A lot of games today have tried to create a story and gaming experience that takes place in the past and pokes at the idea of a rewritten history. One of the latest games to attempt this feat is known as Damnation. This is a shooter game that takes place in the 20th century with the premise of “what if the American Civil War went on for this long?” A Damnation review shows that you will take on the shoes of Hamilton Rourke who is trying to fight an industrialist by the name of Prescott while leading a group of rebels. Prescott commands an army of mercenaries who are equipped with weapons that are practically way ahead of time.
When you get the chance to purchase Damnation for sale later this year, you will find that it isn’t your run of the mill shooter. Instead this game takes on a resemblance of Tomb Raider which will combine platforming, third person shooting and puzzle solving in one package. You will constantly have to leap gaps, climb walls and shimmy your way across ledges in order to advance through the game.

Levels in the game will show a simple, yet very challenging style. You are placed in a huge setting where you will see your objective. However, between you and your objective is a treacherous terrain or multitude of enemies that you have to get by first. Again, it is shown to you in a very simple and direct manner yet the path is formidable.
Like modern day game heroes such as those featured in Prince of Persia and Tenchu, Hamilton Rourke is shown to be quite the gymnast. He is never afraid to jump on a flagpole then swing to a nearby rooftop in order to get pass obstacles. This athletic prowess would certainly come in handy as the terrains and setting of the game usually involves getting through large natural obstacles as well as tall buildings. Also, you will get the chance to enter vehicles in the game as well but there is yet to be any mention of what kind of vehicles are available and to what capacity.
When Damnation on sale gets to stores, you will be pleased to know that there has been mention of a possible two player cooperative mode in the game, something that similar games doesn’t usually offer. This aspect will certainly increase the challenge of the game and increase its replay factor. Hamilton Rourke is usually accompanied by a number of his allies which can be controlled at any time during the game by another player. This is a very interesting feature at the very least.
You will get your chance to buy Damnation for the PC, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 sometime later this year, which would mean that a used Damnation game for any console would be available early next year. With the intriguing concept of the game, a reminiscent and successful style of game play plus great detail on the graphics, Damnation is shaping up to be a solid game.
