The annual E3 convention always features some of the most exciting new gaming prospects that are under development and due to come out some time into the future. This gives gamers a glimpse of what to expect and what they can buy after they finish their current games. With last year’s convention, gamers were given a glimpse of THQ’s Darksiders: Wrath of War on sale later this year. Most likely the actually release date will be announced at this year’s E3 convention.
Following the initial announcement, there has been little news about the game until last April wherein THQ released its first video presentation of the game, but there has yet to be a demo version. The video trailer shows a detailed world and action which was really impressive that has significantly increased the interest with the game. From the Darksiders: Wrath of War review of its trailer, this seems to be a game worth waiting for this year or early next year.

The video trailer focuses upon the story or premise of the game instead of the actual game play. The game is set right after the apocalypse, which seems to be the most popular setting nowadays, and the angels of heaven and demons of hell are fighting with each other for the souls which remain on Earth. The main character which the gamer will be able to control is War, one fourth of the powerful four horsemen of the apocalypse. War’s main characterization is a lone wolf and from the looks of it, he does not want to take sides in the ongoing battle. Also, the game has no good versus evil premise, instead War is looking for something which he had lost when humanity was extinguished. That something he is questing for is his power over men to manipulate them into battle which has given him his rather intimidating name.
With regards to the video, the first battle scene is something worth noting since War didn’t actually brawl with the monster, instead it was a puzzle in disguise which may mean that this is the take of the game when it comes to battle sequences. The other combat scenes are very stylish and may look similar to other games such as Devil May Cry and God of War wherein the enemies are massive as well.
Overall based on the video trailer, when Darksiders: Wrath of War for sale comes to stores people will be lining up to buy it. In other words, this could be the next big game for hardcore gamers. Old school adventure plus stylish battle sequences would have gamers edging to buy Darksiders: Wrath of War. The game will be released on multiple platforms and if you’re the type that would wait for used Darksiders: Wrath of War game, then you would have a long way ahead of you. This game is very promising as of the moment and the game developers are putting in a lot of effort to make it one of the most epic adventure games this year.
