Skate 2 is an extreme sports genre game by Electronic Arts Black Box. The game is scheduled for release on January 21, 2009 for the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360. Expect Skate 2 on sale at your favorite game stores shortly after the release date. Skate 2 is a sequel to Skate It and follows the storyline left by the previous title.
PLOT:
Skate 2 is set five years after the many disasters in San Vanelona. San Vanelona was left in ruins and the citizens were evacuated. Mongo Corp. got the bid to restore San Vanelona and recreated a better city. However, New San Vanelona, as the resurrected city is called, is far from the old skaters’ paradise. Most places are secured and protected by Mongo Corp. security and are off limits to skaters. Your mission is to regain your old reputation and revive the skaters’ culture within the New San Van.

ENHANCEMENTS
The game developers have added enhancements to the game, allowing players more freedom with movement and style. Players can now perform twice the amount of tricks. Characters can perform foot plants, finger flips, ollie north, rail slides, hippie jumps, lip tricks and skitch. They can also move around different types of objects to create new lines and enhance spots. There are about 100 types of objects available within the game. Players also have the option to create female characters. This makes the character customization more varied and less repetitive.
Another plus feature of the game is mobility. Characters can now get off their board and walk or run around New San Van. This enhancement is particularly helpful in moving around objects to create new skating obstacles and lines. Players can also upload their customized challenge online and share it with other skateboarding enthusiasts. To get the most out of the Skate 2 experience, players can participate in freeskating activities online. They can also choose from an array of customized challenges uploaded by other players. Any challenge only requires two players to join in order to be activated.
For all the creative artists out there, Skate 2 also offers an in-depth graphics creator. Users can create and upload their own artwork and show it off. It can be uploaded online where the best designs can be voted. Print out your creations and stick them at your own boards, t-shirt or hats. This is definitely a plus factor for the upcoming Skate 2 sale.
FEATURES
Extreme sport genre players can expect excellent camera angles that show off each stunts performed by their chosen characters. New San Van is also created in amazing details. The landscape is best shown off during aerial stunts and leaps. Now that Skate 2 allows for more tricks and customization, the gaming experience is greatly enhanced. However, the game may not be for extreme sports enthusiast or skateboard aficionados. Skating around a newly built city without any concrete save-the-world mission may not be for all gamers. But the game is a perfect addition to the library of any avid skateboard fan. Gamers should catch the Skate 2 on sale at game shops or online stores.
