Star Ocean, the hit game series developed by tri-Ace and Enix, comes up with another installment which will delight every gamer who is quite hooked with science fiction action. The new game, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, is primarily developed for the Xbox 360. Most people await the release of this installment because of the promising features that it brings.
The Star Ocean franchise takes on a similar story such as the classic Star Trek. The game features different levels of emotion for each character, a battle system which works on a real-time mode, and in-battle voices. These features of the original franchise has lead the developers to produce several sequels which were all loved by gamers all around the world, until it has settled for yet another installment, the Star Ocean: The Last Hope.

The new game will feature four party members which will work as a team. The previous games focus on a more individual note, unlike the new installment. Moreover, the character Edge Maverick will lead the team of heroic individuals, and he will work hand in hand with the heroine Reimi Saionji. The sci-fi theme which was a little bit weak in the first few series will be developed into full blast this time around. The ship which a gamer has to manipulate through the course of the game is also said to be relatively big compared to the previous ones. It has the ability to land on at least five planets or various similar destinations.
The plot will concentrate on the beginning of a futuristic World War III, which is still set a few years before the first entry in the whole series of Star Ocean. The weapons of mass destructions which were once conceived as quite far from conceptualization have now come into a reality. These weapons cause a lot of damage and destruction all throughout the world. The storyline takes off from this scene, as the future inhabitants of the earth search for a new place to live in. Hence, the role of Edge Maverick takes place. He now assumes the role of a young, brave traveler who ventures into other planets in search for a stable place to live in for all of Earth’s inhabitants. He is guided by other characters who will help him fight the evil characters which run about the galaxy as they search for planets to live in.
There are several things to look forward to about this last installment of Star Ocean. For one, the computer graphics involved in the game are more than superb, compared to the previous Star Ocean installments. The combat system which is action-oriented will enable the player to control only a single character, and the remainder of the party is controlled by an AI.
Most of those who evaluated the game considers Star Ocean: The Last Hope more of an apt beginning rather than an end to the series because it clearly states how the world presented on the previous chapters came into being. There is no doubt that people are aiming to buy Star Ocean: The Last Hope as soon as it reaches the market because it will surely be a good game.
