Forza Motorsport III Review

Forza Motorsport 3

Racing Games are a dime a dozen. NASCAR, F1, Motorcycles, Pod-Racers, Carts full of Mario, the market is saturated. Ea’s Need for Speed series makes an annual appearance in at least one of its multiple franchises, along with multiple releases of Motorstorm, and Dirt. Honestly, I have no idea how many dirt-bike/ATV games hit the self in the run of a year. My point is simple; there are too many racing games. For every game with an original idea there are 6 others that stroll in and quickly make it a tired standard. So why would you ever give Forza 3 a chance. Even the fact that it’s the third in a series should be enough to warn you away from the repetitive racing formula. That’s what developers at Turn 10 figured out and that’s why this racing game isn’t about racing. That’s right a racing game that’s not about racing. Don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of racing in it, but it’s not what Forza Motorsport 3 concerns itself with. Nope, the main focus of Forza Motorsport 3 is the cars.
This formula has been applied to gaming before. Some shooters place their sole focus of game on the weapons; other adventure titles revolve around their characters. Forza succeeds at both, making the cars the characters of the game as well as the tools, or weapons as you will. It’s easy to see that once this vision was placed first and foremost as the developer’s goal, the rest (gameplay, presentation, scope) all fell in place, giving an unyielding presentation of the cars, the hero’s of Forza 3. Assassin’s Creed 2 Review

Assassin's Creed 2

The good people at Ubisoft Montreal have once again visited their breakout franchise in the follow up to 2007 Assissin’s Creed with the much-hyped and vastly improved Assassin’s Creed II. This sequel, seeking to make-up for past mistakes, manages to improve upon its winning formula and in doing so has positioned itself as the best action game of 2009.
The original breakout hit of Assassin’s Creed proved to audiances that history could be fun, and engaging, IF interpritted the right way. Basing its missions and structure on actual historical figures and events, the Assassin’s Creed of two years past to creative leeway with over 600 years of history and made it their own. In this return to the franchise, it is evident that developers took heed from its critics, stripping away what didn’t work and building upon what did. Gone are the annoying and repeatitive collection missions, and long eventless horse rides traversing between the three major cities of the first. Even the main assassination missions have been tweaked to give the player a sense of diversity and non-linear play. And although some cumbersome issues do tend to rear their head from time to time (inane flag collecting, have been replaced by hunting for feathers) these tasks have been reduced to side-mission status and are not a nessisity for completeing the game. Complestionists will still have the task of hunting hours on end for random items to reach a ful 1000 gamerpoints, but that what the internet is for. (more…)

Call of Duty is a famous first-person shooting game that is published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward. The theme of this first-person shooting game is the world war. The gameplay of Call of Duty is all about single-player campaign and missions. Call of Duty is very similar to Medal of Honor, another impressive first-person shooting game but there is a major difference. Medal of Honor tells the story of world war in an American soldier’s point of view. Madden NFL '10

Madden NFL '10

Electronic Arts is creating quite a buzz when Madden NFL ’10 for sale hits stores nationwide. This has been the longest running football game franchise in the history of the industry and has span across numerous gaming platforms. When it finally comes out late this year, you can buy Madden NFL ’10 for your Xbox 360 or your Playstation 3 gaming console. With its long history as well as some ups and downs, what would fans of the game franchise expect with this latest instalment?

For one, a first look and Madden NFL ’10 review of the game shows something that has never been included in the game play before, the referee. You can now see and even interact with the referee on the field while you play. They can take as much beating as the players as well. For those of you who are asking, it is yet confirmed if you can actually throw the ball at them.

Basically the game designers of Madden 2010 are giving a lot of time and effort in improving the overall look and feel of the game so that gamers will be able to experience an atmosphere of being in a live football game. It tries to reach a level of authenticity never before seen and as lead game designer Ian Cummings stated, “Everything about this game bleeds football.” This would certainly delight football and gaming fans alike. Another thing you will notice about the game is the added flash from the crowd as they take pictures of the game. However it seems that in time this can get annoying because they keep at it for the whole game. (more…)

Dirt 2

Dirt 2

One of the most successful racing games, Codemasters’ Colin McRae has become a staple with Xbox 360. Of course, due to its success, gamers are expecting a sequel for this classic racing game which came in the form of Dirt 2. When Dirt 2 for sale came out in 2007, it became another huge success. It features six different racing styles, it looks breathtakingly beautiful and it has tons and tons of offline options.

Few racing games in today’s age can compare to what this game has to offer. When people buy Dirt 2, they expect something spectacular and that’s exactly what they get. A Dirt 2 review also shows very realistic effects such as breaking of glass, losing doors, ripping of paint and when you turn over, your car will end up as a beautiful pile of scrap metal. Details on the cars, track, background and weather conditions are simply amazing as well to the point that you will feel you’re in a totally different world. At the same time, the tracks and background are equally as destructible as the car you are driving. Of course, the title is very appropriate since the dirt and grime that you see on track will also stick to your car. (more…)
