The first thing you’ll notice on Tekken 6 is the number of character available. Tekken 6 brings together characters from the old versions and lots of newcomers, combining for a total of 40 characters. Tekken 6 offers the most playable characters on the franchise to date, which is very impressive. For players that are perfectionist, you’ll be spending hundreds of hours of gaming to master each of these characters.
Some of the newest characters on Tekken 6 include Lars, Alisa Bosconovitch, Bob, Leo and Zafina. Lars is a Swedish fighter that sports a rock star look. Alisa Bosconovitch is a robot that has the ability to fire of her limbs and throw her head for explosive results. Bob is a barrel-chested American fighter with an amazing speed. He purposely gained weight and became obese as a result in order to improve his performance. Leo is a German fighter that uses kung fu. Zafina is the only Middle Eastern character of Tekken. Lili and Dragunov of PSP’s Tekken 5 – Dark Resurrection will also be available on Tekken 6, which is a first on video game consoles.
Aside from the impressive number of characters, Tekken 6 also boasts of stunning graphics, which is not a big surprise, because Bandai Namco Games has always made an effort to improve the game’s visuals in every new game. Each fighter that you’ll see on the game has remarkable animated routines. Tekken 6 indeed looks very smooth as it runs on 60 frames per second. Each arena has been improved and is more dynamic. Slamming your enemies on the ground will cause damage to the floor and in some arenas, breaking the floor completely will reveal a new stage.
A new feature on the Tekken 6 includes the bound aerial combo. With it, you can combine aerial combos with ground combos. For example, you can smash your opponents up in the air and then smash them down to the ground, which makes the opponent bounce and then you can continue attacking with a ground combo. But be careful. When characters lost a certain amount of health, their attacks will become powerful; this can give them the opportunity to win the battle.
