The game is based on the movie – X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Unlike the movie, the game is rated for mature audience only. Not because there are flesh being exposed everywhere, but it’s all because of the gore, decapitations, disembowelment and splattering of flesh and blood everywhere. Play as Logan and guide him through various environments like the jungles of Africa, casino, secret laboratories, etc. Slash groups of dangerous enemies with your Adamantium-clawed hero and watch their limbs sail in all directions. Adamantium is not the only thing that can kill. It really depends on the situation. Shed your enemies into pieces with the helicopter’s motor and the use of spikes to impale them adds more to the thrill.

Stab the enemy, straight on the head and decapitate it with the use of the other claw or tear someone in half, literally. You also have various attacks (both light and heavy) that you can put together for a good combo. A lunge attack might be useful in facing enemies in groups. You might not want to depend on your lunge attacks that often, as the game progress, its usefulness decreases. Lunging all the time may leave you flying all the time by being swatted by the enemy. You may want to experiment a good combination most effective per enemy. A good thing about this game is that it forces you to change your tactics per enemy. You play as Wolverine pre and post Adamantium days. In the beginning, Logan has simple moves and clicking the same buttons might be too repetitive and gets boring. The moves increase its complexity as you unlock more.
There are other Marvel villains (as bosses) throughout the game. One of the lowdowns of the game is that it lacks the introduction of bosses and it does not really tell in the storyline why Wolverine has to fight them. It’s more like they are thrown in for the sake of boss fighting.
There are a wide range of enemies like mutants, robots and humans. They have super abilities that will leave you heavily wounded. But Wolverine can heal. The health bar refills itself a few seconds after not taking any damage. This makes the game a little too easy which might be a con to those expecting a real challenge. Wolverine might look immortal as he can survive a good beating. Fall off a cliff and you are as good as dead. It’s funny.
